Search for Journalists
Navigate to the journalist database by clicking on Tools and then selecting “Journalist Database”:

Begin by clicking into the search bar at the top of the page to reveal search filters:

Select Search Criteria
Search by any of the following fields:
- Topic
- Location
- Journalist Name
- Journalist Title
- Primary Outlet
- Outlet Name
- Journalist Email Address
- Source

Click into any search field and select an option from the drop down or type your search criteria:

After you finish typing, click Enter on your keyboard to create a chip with the input. As search criteria are defined, the search bar at the top will show the selections that have been made. The “X” next to the chip can be clicked at any time to remove the selection:

If you would like to use the Topic Search, you will have to remove all inputs except location:

Click “Save” to initiate the search:

View Search Results
Journalist results that match the criteria will populate on the page:

Click on any journalist in the results to open their Dig Deeper panel and view additional information about them:

Click on “Expand Journalist View” to see additional information about the journalist on the results page without having to click into the Dig Deeper:


If a topic was selected as part of the search criteria, each journalist result will be expanded by default and include up to 3 articles that reference the topic:

Click on “Read full article” to view the relevant article:

Edit Your Search Criteria
Edit your search criteria at any time by clicking into the search bar:

Adjust your selections and then click “Save”

Click anywhere outside of the search panel to close it.
To clear all your search selections and inputs click the X on the search bar:

Favorite a Journalist
Build a list of your favorite journalists by clicking the star next to a journalist’s name:

You’ll see a confirmation message that the journalist has been added to your favorites:

Click on the “Favorite Journalists” tab to see all your favorite journalists:
